You’re right - you do sit close together! Gotta tell you, even the slice was worth watching/listening to a second time. We talked about this subject in our young ladies lifegroup on Monday - our prescription for what ails is unrelenting grace - not just outside the church but very much within it. Looking forward to the next slice.
I think that the whole discussion about culture is an important one for the church to have. One of the things that I think needs to be factored into the conversation is that the congregations all across the city are becoming more multicultural and with this increase in representation of nations that are not “Canadian”, the collective culture of the church takes on a different - and in some cases, radically different - look.
So not only do churches have to become more adaptable to the changing demographics outside their meeting houses (post modernism, increasing immigrant population, etc…), they also have to become flexible in understanding that those same changes are happening INSIDE the meeting houses and transforming the church culture from what it used to be.
